45 years of Wafer Bumping and WLP Excellence
International Micro Industries, Inc. (IMI) has been a privately held, U.S. owned provider of contract packaging services to the microelectronics packaging industry for forty-five continuous years.
Specifically, IMI is a value-added provider of wafer bumping and wafer level processing (WLP) merchant services. The Company provides these services to original equipment manufacturers, fab-less wafer design houses, foundries and contract assemblers.
Enabling Customers to Deliver Packaging Solutions Not Attainable with Lesser Technologies
IMI’s expertise in areas of advanced thick-film photoresist processing, higher aspect ratio electroplating and fine line etching, enables the manufacture of more aggressive bump geometries. This, in turn, promotes the design and manufacture of higher performing and smaller form factor bare die packages enabling our customers to deliver packaging solutions not attainable with lesser technologies.
This technology is routinely leveraged by our customers to facilitate the ongoing high-yield manufacturing of bare die packages regularly delivered to the medical, medical implantable, aerospace, defense and high-speed communication market segments of the microelectronics industry.
Consulting for New Product Manufacturability and Legacy Product Lifespan Extension and Succession
IMI has been repeatedly successful delivering matching bump solutions for legacy products where the current bump supplier is no longer a viable long-term option. This approach has been used successfully to offer our customers the security and advantage of maintaining or dual sourcing bumps for a current product, while exploring new bump options to advance the package envelope. In either scenario, the end result has been a reduction in the time and cost of new product development and shorter time to market while maintaining uninterrupted delivery of current and legacy product lines.
ITAR Registered; Exceeds ISO Standards
As mentioned above, many of the Company’s activities are defense and DOHS related. Accordingly, IMI is registered with the United States Department of State and the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls for International Traffic and Arms Regulations (ITAR); IMI’s Registrant Code is M23014. The Company utilizes two outside partners for non-critical (dicing & back grinding) process work. Both of these partners are also ITAR registered and their registrant code and compliance certificates can be furnished upon request.
IMI operates to meet and exceed ISO operating and quality standards and has passed related quality inspections from all of its medical, military, aerospace and automotive customers. Additionally, IMI’s facility is fully OSHA compliant having completed a full audit. We welcome and accommodate quality audits by our customers.
